We are a friendly society based in North London and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2015. Our membership includes professionally qualified as well as amateur geologists, young and old alike. Until Covid, we used to meet once a month in Finchley Baptist Church, 1, Stanhope Avenue, (off East End Road) Finchley, London, N3 3LX at 7.30 for 8.00pm, on the SECOND Tuesday of every month. Visitors and guests are welcome but there is a small charge of £2 per adult, please let Julia know if you are planning to attend. Coffee and tea are available after the event.
Currently (Jan 2023) we are holding Zoom meetings but hope to revert to monthly Church hall meetings again on 14th March 2023.
A guest speaker is invited to give an illustrated talk on a topical geological subject. They have ranged from Essex Geology, Darwin as a Geologist, Minerals of the Natural History Museum through to One Million Years of the Human Story. All talks are by eminent and informed speakers, many from the NaturalHistory Museum and various Universities etc. A lecture programme is published early in the year and details of forthcoming lectures are given in the regular Newsletters.
